October is the month that makes me crave for chunky, tweedy yarns, cably patterns, warms sweaters and spicy food. This year the sweaters, cables and tweeds are combined with my new biker jacket, really flat sneakers and killer red lipstick (okay, the lipstick is a year-around thing, but the shade got just a tad more killer and matte).
Didn't find any really cool cably pattern for fingering weight mitts with long cuffs, so I just winged it. These longer mitts really used just two tiny balls of Fine Tweed! And it has cables and everything! The DK is from a German web shop and was such a positive surprise! It has an amazing feel to it and the subtle changes of the greens are absolutely lovely. Recommend knitting this hat, too, it was pretty much a no-brainer, but really cute! Maybe even nicer with a turned up brim?
Next time I'll bring a bombardment of mittens with me! Something chunky, something colourful, something geometric!
